Flag raised to celebrate ASEAN Community establishment

At 7:30 a.m Hanoi time, the ASEAN flag was raised to the music of the ASEAN anthem. The ceremony marked a milestone in the region’s development: the ASEAN Community was officially established today, following the Kuala Lumpur Declaration signed on November 22nd. Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Phạm Bình Minh welcomed the community’s formation and spoke highly of its significance for all countries in the region.
