Two patients (No. 838, 779) were declared as recovered at the Quang Nam Central General Hospital, including a 70-year-old woman residing in Hoa Thach Village, Dai Quang Commune, Dai Loc District, who was announced as positive for SARS-CoV-2 on August 9, and a 20-year-old girl residing in Ha Nam Village, Duy Vinh Commune, Duy Xuyen District, who was confirmed as having the COVID-19 infection on August 7.
Deputy Director of the Quang Nam Department of Health Mai Van Muoi said that after their hospital discharge, these two patients will be taken to their residence for home quarantine under the monitoring of local medical staff within the next 14 days, and will be sampled for testing twice more before being allowed to reintegrate into the community.
Earlier, the Quang Nam Central General Hospital gave the all-clear to 54 COVID-19 patients, including a 100-year-old woman.
Also on Wednesday morning, three patients (No. 998, 1006, 1020) were discharged from the Da Nang Lung Hospital following their full recoveries from COVID-19, with two returning home for a 14-day quarantine and one (Patient 998) staying at the hospital for cancer treatment.
Patient 998, a 47-year-old man residing in Quang Ngai Province, was confirmed as infected with SARS-CoV-2 when undergoing treatment at the Da Nang Oncology Hospital. He was then transferred to the Da Nang Lung Hospital for COVID-19 treatment on August 20.
As of 3pm on September 16, Vietnam has reported 1,063 COVID-19 cases, of which 691 were locally-transmitted cases, including 551 recorded since July 25. The number of fully recovered patients amounts to 936, while 35 have died from complications related to the disease.
