After more than two years of construction (second phase), the main items of the bridge spanning the Hong River were completed.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Duong Duc Tuan said, that the completion of Vinh Tuy Bridge will contribute to promoting traffic and urban development in the east of the city. Thus, the whole Belt Road No.2 will be fully operational, after the completion of the Nga Tu So - Cau Giay section, Tuan noted.
The second phase of Vinh Tuy Bridge has a total length of over 3.4km including approach roads. The bridge has a total investment of over 2.5 trillion VND, sourced from the city’s budget.
Vinh Tuy Bridge (second phase) has the same shape as the Vinh Tuy Bridge (first phase) and is parallel to the bridge in the first phase.
The bridge has eight lanes, including four car lanes, two bus lanes and two lanes for rudimentary vehicles. This is the first bridge in Hanoi with lanes dedicated to buses.
