VTV.vn - A project to expand the level section of Hanoi’s third ring road from the Mai Dich intersection to Thang Long Bridge, known as Pham Van Dong Street, has been completed after three years.

The stretch opens to traffic on October 10, which coincided with the 65th anniversary of the capital city’s liberation.

With a length of 5.5 kilometres, it is an important route linking the city centre with Noi Bai International Airport and major industrial parks in the city’s northern districts.

The expanded street now has four to six lanes on each side of the median strip and pavements of 4.5 to 8 metres wide.

The total cost of the project was VND3.113 trillion (US$133.86 million), of which VND1.824 trillion (US$78.43 million) were spent on site clearance and the rest on construction and equipment.

Following the opening of the level section, the project management will work with the contractors to complete the elevated section of Pham Van Dong Street.
