VTV.vn - The Department of Politics of the Military Zone 5 organised an exhibition at the Military Zone 5 Museum in the central coastal city of Da Nang on August 23 to mark the 50-year implementation of President Ho Chi Minh’s Testament (1969-2019).

The event, which runs until October 21, showcases more than 200 photos, documents and artifacts introducing the significant achievements Vietnam has attained during the past five decades, step by step realising Uncle Ho’s last wishes before his passing away.

The exhibition contributes to encouraging the entire Party, army and people to continue implementing President Ho Chi Minh’s testament, striving to protect, construct and develop Vietnam into a more dignified and beautiful country, as per Uncle Ho’s wish.

The major themes of the exhibition are “Uncle Ho’s will – a guiding torch”, “southern liberation and national reunification (1969-1975)”, “national reconstruction and protection (1975-1986)”, “renewal and development (1986-1995)”, “integration and takeoff (1995-2019), and “Military Zone 5 armed forces implementing Uncle Ho’s testament”.

On the same day, the Can Tho municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism launched a book and photo exhibition themed “President Ho Chi Minh lives forever in our revolutionary cause”, as part of events to mark 50 years of Uncle Ho’s Testament and the 74th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).

The month-long event introduces over 800 books on President Ho Chi Minh, reflected through the three major themes of Uncle Ho’s works and biography and research documents on the late leader’s life, ideals, morality and lifestyle. In addition, 169 photos are being put on display featuring the topics of “President Ho Chi Minh – Historic moments”, “President Ho Chi Minh lives forever in the heart of the nation”, “the southern region in Uncle Ho’s heart” and “President Ho Chi Minh with international friends”.

The highlight of the exhibition is a photo of Uncle Ho’s handwritten will, which had been revised by the leader over the years. This is a historic document, an invaluable spiritual asset, and a guideline for Party rectification activities and socio-economic development.

On the sideline of the programme, an exhibition on Vietnamese sea and islands is also underway introducing documents and images which strongly affirm Vietnam’s sea and island sovereignty, especially the country’s sovereignty over Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagoes.
