The two officials expressed their satisfaction at the growing relations between Vietnam and Australia in the past 45 years and are seeking ways to strengthen them even further.
The Vietnamese leader thanked the Australian Government for granting scholarships to Vietnamese students and proposed the two countries continue to cooperate closely in regional and international forums, supporting the central role of ASEAN and actively implementing the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison affirmed that Australia will cooperate closely with Vietnam when it takes the ASEAN Chair in 2020 and become a non-permanent UN Security Council member for 2020-2021.
