At a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison Friday afternoon, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan stressed that the relationship between the two countries has been increasingly effective, especially in the field of trade and investment.
Furthermore, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan assessed Australia's position on resolving disputes in the East Sea without the use of force. On this occasion, the Chairwoman hoped Australia would support Vietnam in 2020 when Vietnam assumes the position of President of ASEAN and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA).
The Australian Prime Minister also said that cooperation between the National Assembly of the two countries has become increasingly effective. The Prime Minister Scott Morrison also affirmed that Australia continues to support ASEAN on the issue of endorsing the framework on the Code of Conduct for the East Sea (COC) and respect for international law.
