Ex-president attends corruption trials
VTV.vn - Former President Lee Myung-bak showed up at a Seoul court yesterday to attend his corruption trial, marking the first public appearance in about two months after he was arrested over a string of charges, including bribery and embezzlement.
Lee was indicted on 16 charges including bribery, abuse of power, embezzlement and the violations of other laws. Lee denied most of the charges against him. He only admitted to receiving an off-book fund from the National Intelligence Service via one of his presidential aides. He also admitted to spending 6.7 billion won to remodel his house, but insisted the money was borrowed.
