According to the General Statistics Office, the average growth rate of labor productivity in Vietnam was 4.3% in the period 2011-2015.
This figure was one of the highest in South East Asia in the last five years, mainly thanks to the labor conversion from agriculture to manufacturing industries. Despite improved productivity growth, Vietnam's labor productivity is still among the lowest in the region last year.
There is still a high proportion of labor working in agriculture sector compared with Thailand, Indonesia, and Cambodia.
