Enhancing enterprise competitiveness for global integration

VTV.vn - Recently, Vietnamese enterprises have been quickly moving toward integration. However, their competitiveness in the global market is still low.

As of now, there are 40 thousand enterprises operating in the Mekong Delta region, among which small and medium sized enterprises account for 90%. Therefore, the number of enterprises capable of competing in a globally integrated market is relatively low.

Enterprises from other countries thoroughly prepare in advance, and therefore have excellent trade capacity. Meanwhile, Vietnamese enterprises are limited in both finance and management, which is a huge challenge for them.

According to experts, in the context of integration, enterprises should focus on renovating products, and defining their product chain in the market. This can help them avoid inefficient investments.

However, there remain several issues in carrying out the plan. One urgent task is enhancing enterprises’ competitiveness through favorable mechanisms and policies.

Economic integration has opened commercial doors for enterprises in the Mekong delta in particular and across the country in general. However, there remains the question of how many enterprises will be able to grasp this chance and stay competitive on the global playing field. In this situation, it is imperative for authorities at all levels to create favorable conditions for enterprises.
