VTV.vn - Early flooding has wiped out several rice paddy fields in the Mekong Delta Region and is still threatening hundreds of thousands of hectares.

Long An Province’s authorities have been continuously strengthening the province’s dykes and irrigation systems. The local agricultural sector has been establishing new projects to protect rice crops. Meanwhile, local farmers have been instructed to be punctual with their production schedule and to only plant seeds within protected zones behind the dykes. Flooding happened earlier than expected this year and has greatly affected the productivity of Long An rice farmers.
