Drought leads to higher agricultural production costs

Farmers have to increase the capacity of watering systems. In some localities, residents have to buy water for daily use at high prices. The labour cost for caring for the gardens surged. Farmers also have to compete with products from other regions. According to the Directorate of Water Resource, from the beginning of the summer-autumn crop, over 50,000 hectares of the central region has experienced drought. Challenges still remain in switching to plants adaptable to dry conditions.
