VTV.vn - A national consultation workshop on diversifying livelihoods, building models for poverty reduction, vocational training and support for workers to work abroad, was held by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Held in Hanoi on March 18, the workshop is part of events to implement the national target programme on sustainable poverty reduction in the 2021-2025 period.

The national target programme on sustainable poverty reduction in the 2021-2025 period focuses on investing in people and improving the capacity of the poor by clearly identifying the causes of poverty, to thoroughly solve the problems of the poor and poor areas.

Head of the National Office for Poverty Reduction (Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs) To Duc especially emphasised the importance of promoting vocational education and sustainable employment in poverty reduction.

He noted that assessments found that, for every household, if there is only one trained worker, he or she can have access to the labour market to create a source of income. This is an effective way to escape poverty and is also one of the main topics of the workshop.

Delegates also discussed creative solutions to maximise the efficiency of the state's investment in implementing livelihood development models, while connecting this programme with the national target programme on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas and the national target programme on developing new-style rural areas.
