VTV.vn - The 2016 Pacific Partnership programme (PP16) was launched in Danang on Friday with the participation of the Khanh Hoa hospital ship under the Vietnam People’s Navy for the first time.

The Pacific Partnership, promoted by the US Navy since 2005, aims to improve collaboration between countries during disaster relief operations.

This year’s programme brings together more than 2000 officers, sailors, medical experts and volunteers from the US hospital ship USNS Mercy and the Japanese naval ship JSDS Shimokita.

The two ships arrived in Danang on Friday, improving the city's ability to provide medical treatment to residents and respond to natural disasters.
