Prince Andrew, Duke of York of the United Kingdom, along with the UK Ambassador and the US Ambassador to Vietnam attended the launch ceremony. The center for craniofacial and plastic surgery will provide treatment services to assist children born with craniofacial defects and patients affected by them.
The center is also expected to be a model of international standards which will be applied to many hospitals across the country in the future. For the occasion, Facing the World, a UK Charity for Children with Facial Disfigurement, donated a telemedicine system worth 100,000 USD to Military Hospital 108.
