VTV.vn - Eleven more people, including foreigners, have been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus in Vietnam, bringing the total number of infection cases in the country to 134, the Ministry of Health said on March 24.

Six of the new patients live in Ho Chi Minh City, three in Hanoi, one in Thanh Hoa province and one in Lai Chau province, according to health authorities.

Amongst the foreign patients, two South African citizens and a Brazilian citizen had visited Buddha Bar in HCM City before testing positive for the virus.

In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City Pasteur Institute also found that a 23-year-old man working as a Buddha Bar waiter has carried the virus.

Buddha Bar is the place where three other COVID-19 cases had already been confirmed.

Meanwhile, three travelers who boarded SU290 plane from coronavirus-hit Spain to Vietnam on March 22 were also reported to have contracted the virus. They were all placed in quarantine after landing at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport, health authorities said.

It is worth noting that more than half of the new cases have been diagnosed in their 20s, while a 10-year-old case has been confirmed.

All the patients are receiving treatments at health facilities across the country, and they all remain in stable health condition.

Since the disease broke out in Vietnam in January, the country has recorded a total of 134 COVID-19 cases, but no fatalities. Seventeen cases have been discharged from hospital after a full recovery. Only three patients are now receiving intensive care.
