Accordingly, in order to actively prevent and control the outbreaks and reduce the risk of cross-infection and overload at concentrated medical isolation facilities, the ministry has issued instructions for medical isolation at home with ensured prevention and control of COVID-19 for F1s for the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to consider and apply on a pilot basis.
The guidelines outline the conditions for medical isolation at home and the responsibilities of local authorities in closely monitoring, supervising, and collecting samples for COVID-19 testing for the quarantined subjects according to regulations.
During the 28-day isolation, there must be a separate isolation room, closed and separate from the family's common living area.
Quarantined people are required to measure their body temperature and health condition daily and update on the VHD or Bluezone app, as well as complying with 5K measures on COVID-19 prevention and control.
During the isolation, the isolated persons will be sampled at least five times (day 1, 7, 14, 20 and 28).
The Ministry of Health requested the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to direct the People's Committees of communes and wards in the city to allow home isolation only after they have checked and confirmed that all conditions are met.
The ministry requires strict management and supervision of the home isolation, as well as applying medical supervision of quarantined people during and after the isolation.
The Centres for Disease Control in the city or designated units are assigned to carry out COVID-19 testing for isolated persons.
