International Drama Festival in Tokyo - IDFT is an annual festival hosted by Japan Commerical Broadcasters Association and NHK Television.
It was firstly held in 2008 to honor the TV works, actors and actresses of Japan. However, IDFT awards also include a category for foreign TV series – the Special Awards for Foreign Drama.
In the previous celebrations of the IDFT, foreign winners were TV dramas from China, Korea and India. Chiều Ngang Qua Phố Cũ (Walking on the Old Street in the Afternoon) is not the only IDFT winner of VTV. In 2008, another TV movie of VTV Crime investigation lobby also won the Special Awards for Foreign Drama.
