Director Trinh Le Phong and actress Minh Trang will go to the Japanese capital to receive the award and attend the film festival from Oct 25th to 27th.
The 26-episode series depicts the old Hanoian ways of thinking and habits, which includes good traits but also restrictions that should be removed. It also portrays the conflicts between different generations and the torment that each character undergoes to preserve their true identity.
The annual Tokyo International Film Festival is one of the 12 major film festivals in the world and the largest in Asia. The event focuses on and supports Asian films and fosters new directors from all over the world. This is the first time that Vietnam has won a prize at the festival.
