Challenges facing aquaculture sector

The purpose of this dialogue was to untangle issues hindering the growth of the sector. VASEP outlined 8 major challenges related to 3 ministries.

The representative of Vietnamese aquaculture asked to abolish Decree 38 on food safety certificates, believing that this would add an unnecessary procedure that is not in line with international laws. The sector also demanded that the Ministry of Finance revise its rates of fees and consider removing several obsolete fees.

Ministries are considering these proposals and making adjustments to suit the needs of the Vietnamese aquaculture sector.
