VTV.vn - Every year, March is the time when the Central Highland people celebrate the spring season.

To introduce the lifestyle and cultural traits of the region, the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism has organised an event showcasing the traditions of Central Highlands ethnic groups. The event kicked off on March 25th with many traditional activities.

Kam buh, or the harvest worship ceremony, is an important custom of the E-De ethnic group. The ceremony is meant to celebrate the start of a new farming season, wishing for a bumper crop. This is one of the rituals that was performed in the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism. For many young people, this might be the first time they see a festival of the Central Highland region.

With the theme “Season of Honey Bees”, the three-day event has introduced to visitors a festival of crossbow shooting. People from the ethnic minority groups such as E De, Gie Trieng, Gia Rai and Xo Đang participated in the shooting festival, helping tourists understand more about their hunting customs. Hundreds of Central Highlands forest products and photos were displayed for visitors.

The program will continue until March 27th, with many other springtime activities, such as traditional art performances and folk games. A traditional wedding of Gia Rai people and a harvest ceremony of the Xơ Đăng people will also be reproduced.
