These cantaloupes are now more than 60 days old. They will be sold in the market for Lunar New Year. This is the first year Tien is selling carved cantaloupes. He only makes about 200 but every fruit that he sells has to meet strict standards. Each fruit must weigh from 1.2 to 1.5 kilograms and have a perfectly round shape, bright colors and beautifully carved details. Although people have put in a lot of work to create them, two carved cantaloupes only cost around 18 U.S dollars.
