EcoSport is the second best selling car of Ford in Vietnam at the moment. Due to a cylinder capacity of 1.5, this model is subject to a special consumption tax of 45%. However, with the new tax adjustment taking effect on July 1st, it will be reduced to 40%.
"I believe that the new special consumption tax will create a boost for medium budget cars. Every month, 40 cars with cylinder capacities of under 1.5 are sold here", said Nguyen Hoa Binh, Director of Ford Hanoi.

Under the new tax policy, cars with a cylinder capacity of under 1.5 will decrease. However, luxury cars with a higher cylinder capacity, from 4.0 to 5.0, will see prices increase to 50,000 USD.
