He made the statement at a meeting to celebrate World Ocean Day and Vietnam’s Sea and Islands Week 2016 on Wednesday in Nam Dinh Province.
The prime minister also stressed the importance of environmental protection and asked state agencies to tighten their control over projects that discharge industrial waste into the sea. In terms of the East Sea, he asked involved parties to settle differences and disputes via peaceful means and in respect of international law, and soon create a Code of Conduct in the East Sea.
