Boosting Asia – Europe maritime security cooperation

Head of European Union Delegation to Vietnam, Bruno Angelet, stressed the importance of sharing the experience between Europe and Asia on security issues.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dang Dinh Quy, mentioned challenges in maritime security issues in recent years, such as piracy and natural disasters.

This is the second time the European Union, in collaboration with Vietnam, has organized a workshop related to marine issues. The workshop was an opportunity for both parties to share experiences and practical consultations between Asia and Europe, thereby making effective policies to deal with traditional and non-traditional maritime security challenges and enhance national capacity in addressing maritime security issues.
