On Thursday, permanent member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Dinh The Huynh met the General Secretary of the Communist Party and President of China Xi Jinping. During discussions, the permanent member of the central committee secretariat stressed that Vietnam always focused on promoting the bilateral relationship between the two nations. He also suggested the two sides strengthen political trust and co-operation in all fields, enhance exchange activities, and maintain peace and stability in the East Sea.
The Chinese General Secretary and President Xi Jinping affirmed said China would work with Vietnam in promoting the bilateral relationship. He also expected the two sides would maintain high-level exchanges, and share experiences in national development.
Also at the same day, in the meeting between representatives from two countries' politburos, permanent member of secretariat Dinh The Huynh met Liu Yunshan, member of Politburo Standing Committee and the first-ranked Secretary of the Chinese Secretariat. The two sides comprehensively reviewed the relationship over the past period and discussed measures to fully implement bilateral agreements and general awareness as well as improve bilateral co-operation in all fields.
Regarding the East Sea issue, Vietnam recommend to solve disputes peacefully based on international law, and gently deal with fishing rights issues, without the use of violence or increased militarisation at sea.
