"The public expressed their concern about the case of former chairman of PetroVietnam Construction Corporation Trinh Xuan Thanh. Despite driving PVC into gigantic losses, he was still appointed to the key positions at the Ministry of Industry and Trade and then as vice chair of Hau Giang People's Committee. So the public are asking the government to take drastic measures to prevent corruption", Nguyen Thien Nhan - President of Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee - said.
The public appreciated government efforts in addressing the mass fish death caused by Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Limited Company. They also asked for drastic measures when China has constructed airports, port and military facilities on Vietnam's Paracel and Spratly islands.
