Only the three biggest banks, Vietcombank, BIDV and Agribank, recorded a profit of about 35,000 billion VND, or 1.6 billion USD in 2018. According to the plan, from now until Lunar New Year, other banks will also announce their business results. Although there are no official figures yet, the estimates show there will be changes in bank rankings this year. In Vietnam, four state-owned banks were the largest and most profitable in previous years, but for the first time, private commercial banks will replace state-owned banks in the top four. In 2019, Techcombank could report profits of over VND 10,000 billion, raising it to the 2nd or 3rd position.
