Prosperous localities have been cooperating with banks to funnel capital into projects and realise the national goal of building new rural areas.
From this herd of 12 pigs and other poultry, this family could earn over 8800 USD annually. Capital for the initial investment came from a bank loan of over 4400 USD.
The new rural area construction programme is a joint project between the Government and the public. Over the past 5 years, 71 million USD in credit loans has catapulted economic growth in Thanh Hóa Province’s rural areas.
Agribank is regarded as one of the leading banks supporting the new rural area project. 88 percent of its total loans have been invested in agriculture, including building rural infrastructure. This is seen as key to helping localities meet criteria for the rural areas project.
Simplifying loan procedures has helped farmers access loans and increase their production. Banks and people will continue to work together in order to achieve Vietnam's goal of building new rural areas.
