Famous local and international filmmakers of Taiwan (China) and from other Asia and ASEAN countries, programmers from both the Cannes and Venice film festivals will attend the 4th event.
This year’s workshop and film forum is a rare opportunity for insiders to exchange experience. It also includes activities, such as film screenings, award giving ceremonies, and cinema fundraising, film project market “Art-house Film Corner”, workshops on making a low-budget movie, Voice of Directors.
An actor training program for young people will be instructed by South Korean actress Lydia Park and movie star Moon Sori.
Moon Sori won the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Emerging Actor or Actress at the 59th Venice International Film Festival for her 2002 film “Oasis.” She is also best known for her acclaimed leading roles in “Hill of Freedom” and “A Good Lawyer’s Wife”.
In addition, 12 participants from Taiwan (China), South Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Vietnam will receive instruction and career mentoring from renowned Vietnamese French director Tran Anh Hung in a directing workshop. Hung was an Oscar nominee and Cannes Camera d'Or winner in 1993 for Scent of Green Papaya; more recently, director of the 2010 adaptation of Haruki Murakami's hit novel Norwegian Wood.. He will be the president of the jury board of the prize “The Film of the Future.” in this year’s Autumn Meeting 2016.
There will be a budget film production course led by Indonesian filmmakers Joko Anwar and Tia Hasibuan.
Meanwhile French filmmaker Julie Beziau will offer training in film editing for participants.
“The Autumn Meeting” is an annual cinema program organized by Cinema Land and DNY Productions. The first show was organized in Da Nang in November 2013 and became a highly successful event.
