History is not just found in books, museums, or film reels, it lives with us, carried forward by people who, in the present day, continue to write new chapters of kindness and resilience for this nation. With the theme “Living with History”, April’s Take Off featured stories of Vietnamese individuals who have adapted swiftly to changing times, creating personal legacies while contributing to the nation. They are writing new pages across many fields and helping to drive the country’s collective progress.
A doctor like Associate Professor Dr. Dao Xuan Co, who is not only skilled in medical practice but also a pioneer in digital transformation, is helping Vietnamese healthcare integrate with global standards. A woman like Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, who came from a remote highland village and now stands in the heart of the capital, teaching technology to thousands of young people. And a filmmaker like Minh Chuyen, , whose films don't just tell the story of war but urge us to cherish peace. These are people who live with history, not to reminisce, but to connect the past with the present and future, through action, passion, and a deep sense of responsibility.
“The common feeling among many people right now is excitement, pride, joy, and unwavering determination. We’ve just celebrated the Hung Kings’ Festival. Perhaps no other nation in the world has such a unified ancestral lineage among its diverse ethnic communities, and this unity is the root of Vietnam’s great strength” — said Dr. Pham Tat Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Head of the Central Commission for Communication and Mass Mobilization, who appeared as a guest commentator on April’s Take Off — “We carry with us a heroic past. With that legacy in hand, combined with today’s determination and efforts, and with the nation’s strong rise, we are implementing the Party’s direction and the guiding vision of General Secretary To Lam, ushering Vietnam into a new era, an era of national resurgence”.
