In the morning session, participants highlighted the idea of "resetting globalisation". This motto underlines APEC's determination to boost globalisation and free trade. Participants agreed that despite global and regional economic growth being slow, the Asia-Pacific region remains the engine of economic growth and integration, and a pioneer in advancing trade and investment liberalisation. After the last 12 days of meeting at the technical level, Thursday's morning session focused on priorities in cooperation between APEC members for the coming year. SOM1 is also expected to discuss how to ensure that growth benefits include improving social inclusion, promoting full and productive employment, economic empowerment of women, youth and people with disabilities.
