The adoption of the Resolution sent a strong message about the international community's consistent efforts to block the flow of funding for terrorism.
The resolution calls on countries to apply necessary measures to prevent terrorist financing, including criminalization, the establishment of independent financial intelligence, and the identification of the origin and mode of terrorist financing.
Speaking at the discussion, Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, Head of Vietnam's Permanent Mission to the United Nations, shared Vietnam's experience in developing and improving the legal system concerning terrorism and funding. Vietnam called on countries to strengthen action at the global level and to promote information exchange to deal with terrorism.
