An earthquake hits Pakistan

Pakistani officials say casualties could continue to rise as some people remain trapped under the rubble.

Search and rescue teams are operating in the affected areas and taking victims to the hospital. The quake also affected parts of northern India, including India-controlled Kashmir and the northern state of Punjab. There have been no reports of casualties or damages in neighboring countries of Pakistan.
