The Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee, in coordination with the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association, held a seminar on October 2 to discuss the cultural value of Bach Ma Temple.
A total of 22 speeches delivered at the event, highlighted the history, architecture, festival and the worshipping ritual at the temple as well as activities to preserve and promote the treasured values of the site.
The participants also suggested the building of a dossier on the temple to seek the title of a special national relic site.
A calligraphy exhibition and festival are underway at the Temple of Literature on October 2, displaying 100 works on Hanoi’s land and people, cultural values, history and education.
The eight-day event aims to connect calligraphy clubs in Hanoi and calligraphers across the country through exchanges, while giving visitors an insight into the art of calligraphy.
Also, yesterday, the Hanoi City Department of Industry and Trade opened a Vietnamese Goods Week in Son Tay Town. More than 100 pavilions are being operated at the five-day event, showcasing various types of consumer goods, industrial products, products from craft villages, agricultural goods, seafood, organic food and products under the ‘One Commune, One Product’ (OCOP) programme.
Three OCOP stores were also launched in Trung Hung Ward, Son Dong Commune, and Duong Lam Commune in the town on the occasion.
On the evening of October 2, the Hoa Lo Prison management board announced the launch of a night tour at the site. Visitors will have the chance to listen to audio with moving stories of female soldiers and revolutionists who were detained at the prison during the 1930-1945 period.
