37 COVID-19 patients show positive recovery

VTV.vn - Thirty-seven patients undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at medical facilities across the nation have given negative test results from one to four times, the Ministry of Health (MoH) announced on Thursday (Mar 26).

According to the ministry, as of 7 pm on Thursday evening, three of the 37 patients have fully recovered (each tested negative four times) but they are still to receive further medical supervision.

Also on Thursday, the MoH confirmed 12 new cases that tested positive for the novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, raising the total number in the country to 153.

Among them, 17 have completely recovered and were discharged. The remaining 136 patients with are being monitored, isolated and treated at 21 medical facilities across the country and most of them are in stable health.

* On the same day, the Organising Committee of Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day 2020 said that this year, there will be no festive activities organised except for the three main ritual ceremonies (on March 29 and April 2), with strict implementation of measures against COVID-19 under the guidance of the MoH.

* The Hanoi Textile and Garment Joint Stock Corporation (Hanosimex) presented 700 antibacterial shirts to the Hanoi Medical University Hospital on March 26 in an attempt to support “frontline soldiers” in the fight against COVID-19.

* The Saigon Union of Trading Co-operatives (Saigon Co.op) has coordinated with enterprises to provide over 30,000 food portions for quarantine areas amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, three times the previous figure.

Since mid-March, the union has provided 10,000 portions daily for local quarantine areas. Aside from increasing the number of portions, Saigon Co.op has also strictly abided by regulations on food safety.

* On March 26, Pham Minh Nam, an overseas Vietnamese national in the UK, presented VND1 billion (over US$43,000) to support Vietnam’s fight against COVID-19. At a ceremony to hand over the relief held at the Embassy of Vietnam in the UK, Nam, who is the President of the Vietnamese Business Association in the UK, said the donation shows his responsibility for his home country in this time of hardship.

* The same day, Central Retail Vietnam presented four negative pressure rooms worth VND2 billion to local authorities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to support the isolation and treatment of COVID-19 patients in local hospitals.
