Out of a total of 95 projects nominated this year, State President Tran Dai Quang himself approved 9 for the Ho Chi Minh awards and 7 for the National Awards.
President Quang attended the ceremony to praise the great progress made by the science and technology sector over the past year and asked scientists to continue building on this year's success.
He expressed his wishes for the sector to develop sustainable growth and to perform better regionally.
The state leader made it clear that localities and government agencies are to facilitate technological advancement with favorable policies, welfare and infrastructure.
