The shortlisted candidates showed outstanding achievements in various fields of science and creativity, production, national defence and security, business and start-ups, administrative management, sports, culture and art, and social activities.
They were selected through secret votes of the jury from 154 nominees, including 112 male and 42 female youngsters, with the oldest being 35 years old while the youngest is 14.
The secret voting results will provide a reference for the organisers to choose the top 10, who will be honoured at an awards ceremony scheduled for March 22, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee.
The annual Vietnam Outstanding Young Faces Award is presented to 10 youngsters aged under 35 with excellent performances, achievements or contributions to the community in the year.
It aims to encourage Vietnamese young people to exert greater efforts in study and work, thus making further contributions to the community and national construction and development.
