2,400 tickets reserved for Vietnamese fans for VN-Myanmar game

VTV.vn - As many as 2,400 tickets are reserved for Vietnamese football fans in demand for the Vietnam – Myanmar match of the Group A in the ongoing ASEAN Federation Football (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2018.

The Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) is selling the tickets at its headquarters near Thuwunna Stadium from 10:30am on November 17 to 17:30 on November 19.

Vietnamese fans have to show their passports at the ticket counter and each person can purchase only two tickets in maximum. The MFF advised the Vietnamese fans to buy seats in the area exclusively reserved for away fans for safety reason.

A large crowd of people have been seen flocking to the MFF headquarters to queue for tickets of the big game. They calmly stayed in line and well maintained order. The tickets are priced at between 3,000 Kyat (1.89 USD) and 5,000 Kyat (3.15 USD).

The Vietnamese football team arrived in Yangon, Myanmar at 19:00 on November 17 to prepare for the game with Myanmar which is slated for 18:00 (local time) on November 20 in Thuwanna Stadium.

On November 16 evening, Vietnam beat Malaysia 2-0 at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi.

Striker Nguyen Cong Phuong (Number 14) gave the home side the lead with a back heel touch at the 11th minute from the whistle. At the 60th minute, striker Nguyen Anh Duc (Number 11) doubled the score for Vietnam with a tidy finish from a pass of midfielder Phan Van Duc, bringing joy for the home spectators.

Vietnam defeated Laos 3-0 in its first match of Group A a week earlier, with goals by Cong Phuong, Anh Duc and Nguyen Quang Hai. Meanwhile, Malaysia previously defeated Laos and Cambodia.

The AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 is taking place from November 8 to December 15 with 26 matches among 10 teams. Vietnam’s national football team is in Group A together with Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos.

This year, the AFF Suzuki Cup will feature a new playing format, with both home and away ties. Vietnam will play Myanmar on November 20 and face Cambodia four days later.

In the tournament’s history, Vietnam won the championship just once in 2008. With the leadership of coach Park Hang-seo and the current squad, both Vietnamese and Korean football fans are hopeful the S-shaped country’s team will take the trophy for the second time after a decade awaiting.
