According to a report of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, there are now nearly 30,000 cooperatives in the country, but only 40% of which are working effectively. 709 cooperatives are inactive and needs to be dismissed.
In the next 2 years, Vietnam will improve the operation of 5400 cooperatives and establish 5200 new cooperatives. To fulfil that goal, young human resources is a challening issue. Deputy Prime Minister Vương Đình Huệ said Vietnam already have the necessary framework, but implementation is where bottlenecks occur.
