VTV.vn - The 100th anniversary of the establishment of the International Labor Organization (ILO) was held this morning in Hanoi.

This is also an opportunity for this international organization and Vietnam to review important milestones of cooperation.

The International Labor Organization was established after the Paris Peace Conference in 1919. At this conference, the leader Nguyen Ai Quoc sent a letter demanding autonomy for the Vietnamese people, including "the right to freedom, education, and establish technical and professional schools". President Ho Chi Minh's ideals of labor and the mission of the ILO are still valid and in line with Vietnam's developmental practices today. Since joining in 1992, Vietnam has always been a responsible member of the ILO. Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam emphasized that the ILO Basic 98 Convention on the application of principles of organizational rights and collective bargaining is an important international labor standard that helps Vietnam enhance its labor law.
