This was one activity in the wider Green Tourism Week agenda currently taking place in Can Tho City. At the event, the participants discussed plans to capitalise on green resources in the delta to make green tourism a strength in localities.
Tourism has been one of the key industries in the Mekong River Delta with a good growth rate. Last year, the region welcomed more than 22.4 million visitors.
However, increasing numbers of tourists have had a negative impact on the environment and natural resources. As a result, the authorities have agreed that boosting green tourism as a proper strategy to promote sustainable development of the region in the near future.
