VTV.vn - Young Vietnamese will have six days to spare starting yesterday, April 28, when the country entered a six-day national holiday that will only end this Sunday.

The long holiday starts with the national festival to commemorate the death anniversary of the Hung Kings, the founders of the nation, which falls on the 10th day of the third month of this lunar year.

April 30 is Reunification Day and May 1 is International Labor Day, while May 2-3 are Saturday and Sunday.

Festive activities are held across the country on this occasion and the youth have a wide range of choices as to what to do during these days.

Playing room escape games

Room escape is not really a new kind of puzzle solving game, but it only emerged in Vietnam last year, after which the adventurous game immediately won over local young players.

Room escape is a form of puzzle simulation game, where participants will be locked within a room with a specific scenario according to the respective theme, according to the Escape Room website.

In teams, players have to solve a series of puzzles and riddles using the elements found inside the room, in an attempt to escape it within 45 minutes.

Escape Hunt Experience, LOST – Escape Room, and Break Out are among several well-known room escape games, where local youth can have an enjoyable time having fun together in answering conundrums.

Traveling to neighboring countries

Vietnamese holidaymakers prefer traveling to such neighboring countries as Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia this holiday.

With a budget of around VND10 million (US$463), they can spend their time enjoying food, exploring new culture and escaping from the summer heat of Saigon.

Watching firework shows

High-range fireworks displays lasting about 15 minutes each will take place at eight locations from 10:00 pm to 10:15 pm on April 30 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The venues are Bitexco Financial Tower in District 1; Ben Duoc and Nga Ba Giong War Martyr Monuments in Cu Chi and Hoc Mon Districts respectively; Lang Le-Bau Co Relic in Binh Chanh District; Can Gio District’s Football Pitch; Historical, Cultural Park in District 9; Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11; and Go Vap District Flower Village.
