VTV.vn - On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, a forum entitled “I love my homeland” took place in Hanoi.

Representatives from many ethnic groups and religions took part. They each shared a message about their love for the nation. 100 delegates joined the forum, representing different ethnic groups and religions from across the country. In their discussion, they recognised the role of national solidarity and patriotism throughout past resistance wars and in present-day Vietnam. The delegates also shared experiences in spreading their love for the country through actions such as charity events and social work.

Most Venerable Thich Chuc Tiep, Head of office, Buddhist Sangha of Quang Tri Province, said: "Many young people feel a responsibility to maintain the patriotic spirit of their forefathers. And they are doing it by studying hard, abiding the law, and spreading good deeds in society".

In mountainous areas, young ethnic people actively contribute to protecting the homeland’s borders and natural resources. Many of them are rising above difficult circumstances to improve livelihoods for themselves and their community.

Yxet Niem, Youth Union Secretary, Ea Tul Commune, Dak Lak Province, said: "I do my best to contribute to the country’s development. For example, I’ve called upon fellow young people to build a concrete road in our commune. We worked 250 days to do that".

Over 70 years since the birth of the nation, people from all ethnic groups and religions have contributed to the development of Vietnam. The forum was an opportunity to strengthen solidarity and mutual understanding across the country.
