VTV.vn - Buildings account for more than 30 per cent of total energy use in Vietnam, according to the Ministry of Construction.

Buildings also release about one thirds of Carbon Dioxide into the environment, worsening the climate change picture in Vietnam, so promoting green construction is an effective solution to the issue.

With simpler criteria than the existing green standard system currently used in VN such as LOTUS, LEED or Green Mark, the EDGE certificate is expected to be issued to approximately 70,000 housing units in the next six years, contributing to the reduction of 19,000 metric tons of greenhouse gases annually while saving 43,500 megawatt-hours of energy.
