Up until recently, Vietnamese Tra fish exporters had to obtain these certificates to have the products approved by Vietnam Customs. Following discussions in December, the Vietnamese government decided to put a hold on this policy.
This is because the government had recently received complaints about the complicated nature of the policy, which obstructed their business activities. The move by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development seeks to reduce time and financial expenses for Tra fish exporters.
