Under their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on January 15 in Hanoi, the Japanese side will provide technical consultation for the development, operation and management of the urban railway projects implemented by Hanoi. They will also exchange human resources and relevant information. Addressing the signing ceremony, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Quoc Hung said the deal is expected to help Hanoi manage and run its railway system in a more effective and sustainable manner. Director of Tokyo Metro Company, Yoshimitsu Oku expressed his delight at the agreement, saying that his company will contribute to the development of the municipal railway system. Chairman of the Hanoi Railway Transport Company Vu Hong Truong pledged to work closely with the Japanese side on implementing the agreement. The Hanoi Railway Transport Company was established in 2011 with the consultation services provided by the Tokyo Metro.
