This means that Vietnam is exporting about 3 billion USD every year for education. Internationally-acclaimed education is now in high demand in the country, which makes the sector a hotspot for foreign investors.
Rising incomes and living standards, coupled with an improved investment climate have been pinpointed to be the reasons why foreign investors are increasingly interested in Vietnam’s education sector.
Figures from the Foreign Investment Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment show that as of May this year, Vietnam’s education sector attracted 213 foreign invested projects worth around 822 million USD.
This is still considered humble compared to the billions of USD spent on sending Vietnamese students abroad. Therefore, foreign investors see this a good chance to enter and fill in the gap.
