VTV.vn - At the 23rd Vietnam Film Festival, VTV won four honors in the documentary and science film categories.

As one of the prestigious recognitions in Vietnamese cinema, prizes of the 23rd Vietnam Film Festival were awarded to outstanding works and artists over the past two years on the evening of November 25.

With many exciting and diverse programs, in the vibrant atmosphere of Da Lat City, the National Film Festival - a national cultural event - has successfully concluded. During the 5 days of the film festival, a large audience enthusiastically participated in its events and programs. Out of 177 films participating in the festival, the selection committee selected 146 films to sort out those qualified for awards.

More than 10,000 people attended the screenings at the Cinestar cinemas and 30 mobile screenings during the festival. Screenings and exchanges with film crews were held at Dalat University, Lam Dong Provincial Ethnic Minority Boarding School, Military Academy, and in districts such as Lam Ha, Dam Rong, Duc Trong, Don Duong, and Da Lat City in Lam Dong Province (with 7,500 mobile viewers, including people from various ethnic groups in Tay Nguyen).

This year, Vietnam Television (VTV) won awards in the documentary and science film categories. Among them, the documentary films "Đường đến hoà bình" (Journey to Peace) and "Người ơi, đừng khóc cuối đường" (My Dear, Don't Cry at the End of the Road) received awards from the jury.

In the Science Film category, the Silver Lotus Award went to "Rác chìm" (Sinking Waste), produced by the Documentary Film Center of Vietnam Television. In addition, the individual award for Outstanding Screenplay went to Trinh Quang Bach for the film "Hố đen" (Black Hole).

Organizers noted that this year's festival saw more and higher quality submissions in the documentary and science film categories. In the documentary category, 31 films dealt with various topics, reflecting different aspects of social life and fulfilling political tasks. The films exhibited consistent quality and introduced innovative filmmaking styles, embracing the language of world documentary cinema.
