On Monday, Minister of Construction Trinh Dinh Dung visited the damaged sites, pledging that agencies under the ministry will work with the province to repair the damage. Specifically, the Ministry of Construction will assist Quang Ninh Province with 2,000 tonnes of cement. The Ministry will also work with the province to zone out areas at risks of landslides to ensure better urban planning in the future.
The heavy rain also raised concerns of water pollution, since coal mines in the province also suffered from landslides. The world heritage site at Ha Long Bay is currently at risks of environmental pollution.
